Heather, World Champion
On the 2nd March Heather Davenport traveled to Dublin to take part in the WAKO, Irish Open. This is a world (martial arts) event.
Heather took part in 4 divisions, competing in large groups, against competitors from the UK, Canada, America, Italy, Hungary, amongst others. Heather has had just 3 weeks of training after recovering from her broken foot in September. Amazingly, she took overall gold, and is now a World Champion in hard style traditional Karate. Well done to Heather, her club, Energize and her coaches – Megan Able in Sheffield and our own Tamlynn, without their support Heather wouldn’t have been mentally or physically able to achieve this.
