The trips can be a bit of a marathon. They start at 6.00 on the Friday morning at Copley Leisure Centre and the coach then travels down the M1, M25, M2 to Dover. Then wait for the Ferry, cross to Calais and drive for another 2 hours along the top of France to get to Armentieres by 5.00. Coming home the trip is reversed and takes all day Monday. But in between is a full weekend on living with a French family and fun in the gym and on local outings.

In 2001 SSOG visited Armentieres and the weather was cold and damp!
