Other Club Activities

So what else does the club get up to?

There are usually a number of events during the year for the club members to attend, that are nothing to do with gymnastics. We have a Family Funday in the summer, usually with all sorts of sports to have a go at and a barbeque, weather permitting and a disco at Christmas.

Each Christmas there is a blow away the cobwebs walk, usually on the fringes of the Peak District. Also at Christmas we have a parents and coaches night out, in 2004 with a Kylie lookalike cabaret. No pictures available of that evening.

Family Funday 2004

Weather was not too bad until food time when the heavens opened and the downpour was torrential. We resorted to cooking on small disposable sets under the canopy around the Recreation Centre, desperately trying to stop smoke going into the building to test the newly installed smoke detectors.
