  Club History

Not too sure where to begin as the club memory resides with Brenda Smith, who really does need to write something down! The club was founded by Brenda with Frank Williams in 1984 and was originally not based in Stockport and was not known as Stockport School of Gymnastics. This history page will develop as the true facts are discovered, but in the meantime have a look at some of the pictures.

If you were a member of the club at anytime in the last 20 years then please email the website and fill in the missing dates.

When the club first moved to Dialstone Recreation Centre in Stockport during June 1986, the club were known as Dialstone School of Gymnastics. Each Gymnast had a cloth Badge and in the space at the bottom would embroider their name.

The club has ties with Jeune Garde gymnastics club in Armentieres, but also had twinning links with gymnastics clubs in Heilbronn in Germany and Bezieres in France. This sticker was produced for the visit of the Heilbronn club to Stockport in 1995.
