Stockport School of Gymnastics moved to Dialstone Lane Recreation Centre in 1986. However the club originally was formed in Stalybridge and was involved with twinning activities with Armentieres. This association was continued to this day with annual visits of the French Gym club to the UK and return visits of our club to Armentieres.

The format  is quite simple. One year the Jeune Garde club comes to Stockport and the next SSOG go to Armentieres. Travel is on the Friday and  Monday, leaving a full weekend of activities.

The visit in 2000 was in the September and the highlight was the display we did in Armentieres Town Square.
